the logic escapes me…

jasper likes to climb right?¬† we have already established this – she likes to climb in, climb down and climb up…but this is what tickles me – she doesn’t quite have the order down…jasper will climb inside something and then, only then, will she try to reach down and grab something way out of reach…

it frustrates her to no end but it makes me giggle a little ūüôā

jasper lilith and the bronze komodo dragon…

so jasper and i have been making daily trips to the zoo to take advantage of this gorgeous fall weather while we can…and i have discovered a secret!¬†

here it is:¬† if you go to the zoo close to when it closes, you end up walking the trails all by yourself (well,¬†with¬†my little monkey, too) and it is so cool…i mean it, there isn’t anybody else around and all you can hear are the¬†animal noises…it is easy to miss all those noises normally – the sounds kind of blend in to the background during the day when there are so many people about but when those people are gone?¬† then all those animal sounds just jump right out and surround you…

plus the animals are about to be fed around that time and they are very active and moving around so it is a much more interesting¬†visual experience…we have been going about an hour or two before the zoo shuts down and nobody seems to be in a hurry to get people out so¬†we¬†end up strolling out of there after it officially closes…i asked a zoo manager-person if it was a big deal (didn’t want to make the minimum wagers curse my name) and he said nope, they factor us late strollers in…so there you go, now you know –¬†if you do the fort worth zoo, then do it later than most people and get the best out of¬†it!¬†

plus there are some flowering bushes throughout the zoo that are in bloom and they smell incredible – i walk around with my head tilted back taking these deep breaths with my nose – i probably look the fool but man, it smells good!¬† arnetta, they might be a close tie to sweet olive – that is how¬†yummy they smell…i have asked two zoo people what the bushes are called and they haven’t a clue but i am starting to not even care what they are called, i am just glad that i can smell them…¬†

peek-a-boo…
